7 Golden Essay Writing Rules

Creating essays is a popular activity among students. Why? Essay writing unlike any other scholastic pieces is more fun to write. It gives room for students to tackle casual topics giving their creativity and writing approach a bit leeway.

Although crafting essay compositions provides a room for students’ imagination and writing flexibility, there are still guidelines to consider. To date, there are at least seven golden rules towards an efficient essay writing procedure.

  • Thou shall not plagiarize. The ultimate don’t in essay writing is committing plagiarism. It does not just ruin the credibility of the paper but of the writer as well.
  • Know thy audience. Essays are powerful instruments to send message across readers. With such relevance, it is crucial to understand the need of the target readers when crafting essay pieces.
  • Follow technical rules. Writing essays however casual the tone is still needs to adhere to the technical aspects of writing.
  • Research efficiently. To provide due substance to such pieces, essay writing demands a good amount of in-depth and relevant researching.
  • Plan everything out. Any form of written assignment entails proper planning. From topic selection, data gathering, outlining of arguments down to writing the piece.
  • Never forget to proofread. Even how flawless the ideas presented in the essay are but it has distracting spelling or grammatical errors, the work is not as efficient as it can actually be.
  • Cite accordingly. To prevent any form of originality issue and to establish the credibility of the written composition, proper attribution is a strong call.

The casual nature of essays makes students enjoy writing such works. However, casual tone does not mean substandard approach. The process of doing essays still requires students to at least practice these seven golden essay writing rules.
